Falling crude prices cut India’s oil import bill by 8.5% in December
Chennai: India’s crude oil import bill declined sharply in December, offering relief to the country’s external account as softer global oil prices offset a marginal rise in import volumes. Data from the Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell shows that the oil import bill fell 8.5 per cent year-on-year to $9.7 billion in December, compared with $10.6 billion spent in the same month last year. This decline came despite India importing a higher volume of crude, underlining the impact of lower international prices on the overall import cost.

SC asks Centre, Delhi to submit action plan on CAQM’s air quality measures

“The CAQM has recommended 15 long-term measures. It has also identified the agencies concerned that are competent ones to give effect to these long-term measures,” a three-judge Bench led by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant said, taking note of a status report filed by Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati, representing the CAQM.

Vinfast VF7 receives 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating
Bharat NCAP announced today that the Vinfast VF7 has received a 5-star safety rating in its crash tests. Interestingly, BNCAP says the tests were conducted in November 2025, just two months after its prices were announced. The 5-star rating for adult occupant protection (AOP) and child occupancy protection (COP) is valid for all five VF7 variants – Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky and Sky Infinity.
